Able to find shiny Lapras?

Hey guys, wasn't really sure where to post this. I was just wondering though, If I went to Lapras on a Friday and saved next to him, then took all day and night and fought him 8000 or so times, would he eventually be shiny? Same for Legendaries too?

Even if the over world sprite itself isn't shiny? Or would I have to save in the room before it?

Alright thanks. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be a wasted effort. Lol I'd have to punch a kitten if I battled the same thing 8k+ times and find out it was for no reason.

Ah sorry, that makes another question. If you do change it so the OW sprite is shiny too. Would we THEN have to save in the room before it, or would it change to shiny (when lucky of course) upon reloading?

you'd have to enter and exit the room, but don't get your hopes high on that feature. :p

Simple answer: you can save where ever you want :p
Detailed answer: The way our system is set up every time you load a map it runs the scripts tied to loading the map, in the DS games they also save state the map you are on so any strength rocks, rock smashes dont undo.
Our system doesn't work the same way so it wont remember if it is or isnt shiny each time either

so in the case if a found a legendary shiny save the game quit, and return to game this pokemon can continue be shiny or not?

I could make it go either way really...
I will probably make it so that reloading in front of the pokemon recalculates the shininess

Yo, figured I'd add to this post for my question. Did anything change with the OW sprites in 0.53 with shiny legends? I'm 3 days in so far trying to get shiny Articuno lol. o_O Asking cuz it would be so much faster if I can just look at the OW sprite and see if it's shiny than have to wait for the battle before relogging.

Overworld sprites do not change in shininess regardless if it is actually shiny.
So if you're shiny-grinding legendaries, you have to fight them to see if they're shiny or not.
