Maily making this thread for me and Tish but anyone feel free to comment for those of you working stiffs on these forums.

So share your stories about on the job experiences ( Or even things you've witnessed ) Dealing with Customers, co workers etc. in a position where you are forced to deal with the public be it customer service, on the phone phone, working fast food or as a cashier etc.

I'll start

For those curious I have 2 Jobs.

Job # 1- I Work for our local Transit Authority

( Explanations on Public/Mass Transit can be found Here <-- Link Or Here or Simply type it into the search Engine of your choice)

Anyway my job there is what's called a checker. Sadly due to many cutbacks this position is slowly being phased out but as such I've taken on a variety of duties & tasks when need be. Primarily though my duties include:

PR Duty - When there is an event or major service disruption assisting in notifying the public via actual in person outreach ( its less complicated then it sounds )

Ride observations - This can include but not be limited to counting ridership totals via actual riding, Observing on duty employees to ensure protocol and rules are being followed etc

On The Spot training - This is only training in minor areas of operating procedures, or as needed when no one is available or company policy limits the ability for full training to take place or assistance is needed in a pinch training drivers on a route he or she may not know or assistance navigating a detour.

Believe it or not there is A LOT Of customer/Public interactions on this job.

Job#2 - Self Employment -Contracted
My 2nd Gig is when our Transit's Main Customer Service line is closed I run and operate an after hours customer service line all by my lonesome >.<

This means LOTS Of interaction from/with the public -_- :dead:

Now then My 1st story of sorts not really a story but I love how College students ask the dumbest of questions & can seem to lack common sense or that thing they call a brain XD

Horrible! I always kinda figured sneaky and just plain wrong stuff went down like that at Fast Food restaurants. I haven't ate at Burger King in forever, because the last several times I ate there, I got stomach problems.

I mostly like McDonalds (hey! It's really not that bad. It only has a bad reputation, but at least they're trying to show you the calories in their food), Arby's, Chick-fil-A, Zaxby's (delicious but quite expensive) and Sonic's. Theres probably more that I can't remember, but yeah.

I don't have much job experience to share, but I'm now trying to get hired at a Vet office.

I Work for a Consessions stand at my local baseball park.
It can be hectic sometimes but in the end its all about free food and getting paid.
I would say the strangest incounter i have with people is them asking for high quality food. Forexample: Some lady came up and ask for the healthiest thing we had, Which happen to be Pretzles >.> then she started complaining that we dont have any healthy organic shit.
And this happened more than once with multiple people!

I was like, this is a baseball park, not freaking Whole Foods ( for those that dont know thats an Organic Supermarket).

Oh another one would be when i got into a full on water fight with a group of 7year olds.
They all had squirt guns and i had a spray bottle.... needless to say i lost >.>

Short and simple: I got called the N-word at my last job by a fellow co-worker, to my face nonetheless. I might add that she was completely unprovoked. I was simply walking to the bathroom.

I don't understand, Burger King is the best over here in Ontario. It tastes like real burgers, and I watch them in the back, and if something falls, they throw it out, they wear gloves and everything. I feel bad for you guys, because Burger King is down right delicious here.
Though I have a related story, now that we're talking about fast food:

I hate Wendy's, it's horrible. I once ordered a Baconater, and I got a grease-fest. It was disgusting. I took a bite, and my mouth was full of grease, and the burger just kinda crumbled, like a cookie. I opened the bun, and the cheese was black, and the bacon was completely burnt. The lettuce was microwaved and gross, and the whole thing was just garbage. :yuck:

@Truepower It depended on the manager working at the Time but when I worked at BK While I can understand pitching stuff on the floor I mean sometimes they went overboard like if an order is cancelled they would pitch the Entire order ater 2 minutes Im like WTF if youre going to write it off on taxes later on why not let the Employees have it when they go home or on break since all they gave us was 1 Free Sandwhich & small drink a day. I used ta look at our trash think how many people in world are probably starving & here we are be rediculousy wasteful & throwing some food away needlessly. Also we were ordered to pitch stuff if we put on the wrong condiments by accident.

As for Experiences I get similar at McDonalds... Its like I order a Chicken Sandwich then get a Mayo -Fest

I will never eat fast food again.
Wae not? ... Overreacting & Fear much? o_O Besides for ANY Chain of ANY Business the sad reality is experiences can & usually do differ and positive or negative experiences are not representative of the company as whole.

Sadly though this still reflects on said company especially negative experiences which is why any decent company weeds out those negative experiences or influences ( Bad Employees, Managers etc. ) and corrects any issues hopefully making things right in the process for Example if you give me a dam Sandwich with A Tub of Mayo & 1 Chicken nugget on it guess what? Go back make it & put an actual piece of chicken on it or in the cases where things need to be taken higher up the ladder do what it takes ta make the customer happy. For instance last time my cousin had to do this due to a series of issues he got A FREE $25 McDonalds Gift Card + A Coupon for a FREE Big Mac :p

Oh, I forgot to say that I like Wendy's as well. xD Their burgers can be kind of greasy but not always. I find that the food tastes better and you get more of it when you eat inside.

One of my fast-food pet-peeves is when they don't fill up the fry container. I love fries!
