Help choose Pokemon for Silver's Soul

What about having the grandfathers as stand-alone Pokemon? Like, you have to do a quest or a special mission to find them (they don't need to be catchable, only a part of the story). Grandfathers are supposed to be long forgotten entities, and finding them would be very special.

Also, you could add the starters to the story so you can be able to get the three of them just like in Yellow, where you were handed them from trainers or some NPCs.

In that case it shouldn't be any legendaries, but a special one that will involve to something very huge and powerful. More powerful than any legendaries. Something like Celibi or Mew (into a Mewthree maybe? lol)

not if you make the "evolution condition" something that can only happen in story(like instead of evolving like normal it is a scripted thing that happens just then and only then)

That would be awesome. I like the idea of location specific evolution. For example, the Ruins of Alph. I always thought there would be more to that place than what was in the games. Than just a specific kind of pokemon. Explain it as an ancient energy that allows you to get a now extinct evolution of the various Starters. Maybe Mewtwo's cave on Kanto

Additionally, I'll look for some pictures of potential evolutionary Grandfathers for the Silver starters. I would love to evolve Feraligatr another step
