Title says it all. What was the hardest Pokemon League for you?
For me it was the one in Leafgreen, but it was also my favorite one.

Gen 5 would have to be the easiest due to the fact you can choose the order of who you would like to battle. Also rematches should not be counted in this thread, should be the first time you face them.

I would say Gen 1 would be the hardest.

Gen 1 and 2 were hard.
Gen 3 was slightly easier and Gen 4 and 5 are too easy. I want them to be hard again. :(

pokemon stadium. i might have just been a huge noob or something at the time (I was, what, 10, 12? lol) but pretty much all the fights in that were really good IIRC. Lots and lots of leagues to beat. I only played gen 1 and 2 (blue then silver versions) but you could just overlevel the elite 4 and beat them with a single pokemon, I would farm them for XP while I rode the bus to and from school (an hour each way, that gameboy was very useful.)

I hope the AI for trainer battles in this ends up being decent (it is hard to tell against low level wild pokemon), this game is so easy to mod that people could make their own dream elite 4. There could be maps with trainers that have 6 level 100 pokemon, with interesting teams with cool move sets. I'm so looking forward to the patch that adds the gym leaders because that's going to be when that sort of thing starts being possible.

If WoW's pet battles count, all the trainers in pandaria have really cool teams. The great thing about the wow pokemon is they have a fairly low level cap, so most of the pet battle trainers are impossible to just overpower. I have seriously reached a point where I can't beat the trainers with my team because the ones I have are weak against a bunch of things. It is a good example of what a properly tuned 'endgame' can do. If there were 1 thing I'd change from the original game it is how there is nothing to do but collect and train once all the trainers are beaten. Doing that is cool, but I had hundreds of hours clocked by the time I stopped playing, there could have been some variety. I restarted my pokemon blue save (after transfering the good pokemon off it with pokemon stadium) once just to be able to go through it again. At least this game has multiple saves, having to delete your save to play through the game again in the originals was brutal.

Leaf Green/Fire Red were hardest for me but I have not played any Gen I or Gen V games yet. After I had gone through Victory Road rather quickly without losing a single Pokemon, I still was not ready for the Elite Four. It has been the only game were I have had to additionally train my Pokemon after reaching the Elite Four. Fighting the four or so people at the end of Colosseum was difficult as well. I don't think double battles are not my strength.

Generation 1 and 3 are at a tie for me. Gen one can pull rabbits out of its arse sometimes and destroy me, even with my overpowering team. I regret not raising a more balanced party, but hey, I can fix it right?

Generation 3 due to the simple fact of Glacia. Or as I call her, "Glacia the Ice Bitch". That dammed Walrien irritates the hell outta me.

Thunder takes that thing right out, those Galies or whatever they are called really get me though. She'll go full restore happy on that Walrien if you don't one hit it.

Leaf Green/Fire Red were just remakes of Red/Blue. Do they not class as Gen 1? I know you can get Gen 2/3 Pokemon in it, but i thought they weren't available until you beat the league anyway.

Yeah, you are right. Except Fire Red and Leaf Green did have the island chain that you journey to after you defeated the Cinnabar Gym, which allowed for additional training.

I remember as a kid I never beat the E4 on Yellow, but I did it on Fire Red so who knows. I do know that Gen 5's was laughably easy, just because 3/4ths of it could be done with just a bug type.

I believe Gen 1 was the hardest mainly due to the fact that red/blue/yellow weren't as advanced as the later generations, ie poke powers, held items, and more moves.

In my own opinion Gen. 2 was the most difficult, But I have grown up quite a bit since then and my gaming skills advanced.
Of course now that I am restarting them all; Im going to level up my pokemon a lot before facing Gym Leaders.

I will say FireRed/LeafGreen(kind of remake of Red and Blue(Gen 1)) was the hardest ever. Gen2 Gold, Silver and Crystal was super easy the easiest ever, unscribleable easy. Gen3 Sapphire and Ruby(also Emerald, but not 100% gen3) the Elite 4 and Campion is easy here tought, if you did it correct. So if you think about it, it would turn out ot be kinda medium difficulty. Gen4 Diamond and Pearl(Platinum), i will say med. to hard, but not fully reached hard.
Gen5 Black and White. Turned out to be way too easy again, and not that fully fun to do after much up and down in the game, so i hope we can get a greater challenge here at Pokemon 3D. :D

same. im playing through ss atm and the only way to make it challenging is not use my starter pokemon, who despite being used in about 3 fights since violet town is still several levels higher than the others in my party :|
