I can't catch Farfetch'd

I've been stuck in a while in Ilex forest now...
I can't seem to get Farfetched to go towards his trainer!
When he is on the crossroad-ish thing, he just flies back to the ledge...
Help, please?

face the front of the bird and then go to the left side of it(if possible) the necessary cue is on that side

I've been chasing the damn bird for over an hour as well, took me a while to figure out that it mattered on which side you talked to it. And then I just chose the wrong one over and over..

It didn't worked for me. Look this, I'm one with Farfetch'd.

This friggin bird is a pain in the rear. I haven't even booted up P3D in a long while because of it.

Not to mention the constant fights every. single. step. are a major nuisance.
