Cool, diagonal movement makes it feel alot less like you are tied to a grid which is fun!
However, not unexpected, bugs come with it:
-> Starting a new game does not enable diagonal movement
-> Moving diagonally into the cave north of Mr. Pokemon's house will actually enable you to move diagonally into a square, which happens to be a wall. You can either move back into the part of the cave where you belong, or you can move to the other side of the wall (yes, there appear to be 2 walkable tiles behind the wall) and be trapped forever: imgur.com/cDMNu
The latter also seems to be a bug in your own house. On the lower floor, stand right before the warp point to your room and face it. Then move to diagonally left, you'll find there to be a secret room behind the stairs! (doh) And you can finally move into the warp point from the left, putting you in the end outside of the map.

I expect to find more, but good job on 0.16
