Hey, so I am new to this 3D pokemon game, i love it so far, the only problem is when i save and close it, I can never come back to it later with out needing to re-download the latest version.

I'll waste as much as an hour training and whatnot only to have the save file to never exist, like literally when i re-open the game, it should say, "Start Game" Or atleast have the button clickable right? It's not like that for me, the only clickable button is for me to download the latest content, that which i do not want to do, because my previous progress will be no where to be seen.. Can someone help me out? What do I have to do? I have even tried opening the file location, and dragging stuff from the pokemon folder onto the tree to try to open it lol. Help. Please.

-Thanks!

is the launcher and the folder pokemon in the same folder?
The green tree icon that is IN the pokemon folder, when i try to click on that one to open up the game, I get this error.

" Invalid Start Parameters"

But that same tree when i dragged it to the desktop opens with no problem, there just isnt a version that will open, hense the continual need to re-download. :/

you need both
pokemon3d should be in the same folder as the pokemon folder and pokemon.exe should be in the pokemon folder along with 5 other folders and 2 other files

the launcher opens the exe, you can also not download the latest version. updates dont erase saves either

also, you can back up your saves, theyre a bunch of text files in /pokemon/saves/yourcharactername/

none of that is working for me, the only way this works is if i never close the game client. I think im gonna just do that. I re-downloaded it just now again for the 5th time, and closed it right away, and tried to re-open it... not there. where does the game file go? need to dl a 6th time? omgg

Have you tried to place the Pokemon3D.exe separately from your Pokemon-folder on your Desktop and see if it makes any difference? Like, place the Pokemon3D.exe next to your Pokemon-folder on your desktop in case you have a lot of stuff on your desktop.

Yeah I tried that. same results, just lose the game file somewhere, I cant even locate in on my hard drive at all, Is it like an extention on the client? Does this game have a "File" button on the upper left corner like most windows that open up?

I can search "Pokemon" on my computer, and ill get a couple things, mostly being the 5 or 6 pokemon files ive downloaded, it will just be a folder, as shown in this picture I have attached. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong based on what is shown below?

this is my folder structure
pokemon 3d folder.png

This is my Pokemon3d folder
The only things you need to have are the Pokemon and Pokemon3d.exe(the others are for modding)
pokemon folder.png

Inside the pokemon folder I have these folders and files

When u run the launcher and download the latest version it will create a folder called Pokemon in the same folder where u have put the launcher!

When its done downloading u should have this
  • Pokemon <-- Folder with actual content
  • Pokémon3D.exe <-- thats the launcher u always run this!
Inside Pokemon is this
  • Content
  • maps
  • Save
  • Scripts
  • AppSharpGameLibrary.dll
  • ID.dat
  • Pokemon.exe <---- U cannot run this u need to use the launcher to run the game
U need to have the Pokemon folder right next to the launcher or else it will re-download all the content again and save it in the same folder as your launcher.

Telling from your search it saved the pokemon folder on your desktop and as such the launcher "pokemon3D" should also be on your desktop.

If u want to move pokemon3D u need to create a seperate folder and place both the folder Pokemon and the launcher Pokemon3d.exe inside then all u do is create a shortcut for pokemon3d.exe and use that to launch the game.

Legit, at the end of this video, it actually worked, I didn't do anything differently. It just decided to work because i recorded it, instead of the continue / load game buttons being able clickable, they werent. And the only 2 available to click were the new game and quit game buttons. But it works, im just not gonna close it, I am afraid it will act up again.
