A suggestion for battles

Jigstraw

Trainer
There are several pages of suggestions, so I apologize if this has already been suggested.

Moving on, I strongly dislike the fact that when a pokemon faints in battle, it automatically sends out the next pokemon in your party, rather than giving you a choice of what to send out. This can be especially problematic in PvP, as sacrificing a weakened pokemon to get a clean switch is a common strategy. Revenge killing is also pretty common, and sometimes necessary.

Give us the option to choose what to send out next in the next update if it's at all possible.

a) we havent finished the battle system yet so :p
b) nilllzz is busy with school so he can only do small parts of the code at a time so this might not happen for a few months or so...

I'm just kind of disappointed it wasn't a higher priority. You'd think something as important as that would have been fixed with the pvp update. Just my opinion though.

Thanks for the quick reply! ^^

It wasnt intended to be left undone
and nilllzz just sorta went ahead and did PVP ahead of schedule
we were originally gonna wait til we finished the battle system before adding it :p

Ah, well. I guess we just have to take it with a grain of salt. You guys have done great with what you have done so far.

Also, I posted a reply in your randomlocke thread, because I can't get it running.

WHEN is the battle system going to get done, there are still a lot of things wrong with the pokemon battles, we should be able to catch fainted pokemon, and why dont some of this pokemon have the abilities written in the poke wiki, like water absorb and the rest, ,

First off...never in the history of Pokemon have you been able to catch a fainted Pokemon. Secondly, some Pokemon have more than one ability that is possible so you probably just got unlucky

Those kind of stuff will probably be fixed Soon™, because they are stuff that breaks the game to some extent & should be eliminated.

I don't think Timi knows what he's talking about. Catching fainted pokemon has never been possible at any point in the entire 18 year history of Pokemon, and I agree with DylanWicorek's post saying that pokemon have multiple abilities and he probably just hasn't gotten the one he wants.

However, I know some abilities effects aren't implemented, both in and out of battle. Like Pay Day. But I consider that a more broad issue than pertaining strictly to the battle system. Abilities are also used for other things, like Flame Body and Magma Armor making eggs hatch faster, Synchronize creating a higher chance of encountering a pokemon with the same nature as the owner of the ability, or Illuminate increasing the rate of encountering pokemon in the wild. Anyway. I wonder if he meant Water Absorb is a not-yet-implemented ability? Sounds like a possibility.

I was directing my "will probably be fixed Soon™" at the bugs in the battle system, not the catching of fainted pokemon. But yes, all the important stuff that is in the official games will eventually be in P3D, like the missing moves.

My mistake then. Thanks for clearing that up.
