Being able to set Hotkeys

It can get somewhat tedious having to manually go into your menu, go into your pokemon list, and select "ride" among one of your pokemon whenever you want to ride. It would be pretty nice if you could set some of the options in your list to a hotkey, kind of like how you could set something to "select" on the old Pokemon Crystal game. The number keys seem to be unused right now, so those could be used for the hotkeys. Some things that could be hotkeyed would be HM moves, Key Items, and useable inventory items like potions, escape ropes, etc. That would certainly make using those items and moves easier.

Another alternative could be like how it is in gen 6. Where you can have 4 items preselected to use with the touch of a button

I like the idea of either option, although hotkeys appeals more as you could have more than 4 things selected (and things besides key items).

It might not be so easy cuz the xbox controller has to support that too .
I really hope this will become a thing. Would make item usage 1,000 times easier. I have never used the xbox controller so I can't speak for them but I think that the xbox would not be able to support that. Only the computer keyboard, But It would be a shameful waste not to add it.

I like the idea. If people expect a controller to be able to do everything a keyboard and mouse setup can... they're going to be disappointed 127% of the time. Keyboards just have so many more possibilities. Ain't nothin' you can do about it.

What is the current Xbox 360 controller setup? I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to set pressing the left analog stick + button to use hotkeys. As an example, you would go to your pokemon, select "Set Hotkey", select an HM in its move list, be prompted what button you want to bind it to, and set it to x. Whenever you want to use that HM now, just hold down the left analog stick and press x.

Edit: If X-Box 360 buttons are mapped directly to keyboard keys, then you could just have different buttons be assigned to different numbers when the L-Analog is held down. X - 1, Y - 2, A - 3, B - 4, L-Bumper - 5, R-Bumper - 6, L-Trigger - 7, R-Trigger - 8, Select - 9, Start - 0.

While I really think this needs our support many things have higher priority including(in no real order):
battle system updates/moves
pvp stability issues
server features
maps and scripts along with any system features to support them
I will try to push this but nilllzz is EXTREMELY busy with RL stuff so idk how long til it happens

Yeah, this update would be more of a luxury, rather than a necessity. But it would definitely make the UI easier to manage, and take advantage of the many buttons a keyboard has to offer in comparison to a GBC.
