now thats something you don't see every day. very strange

please try playing the wmas in /pokemon/content/songs to see if they're corrupt or something, also are all the matching xnb files with the wmas?

have you installed the xna 4.0 runtimes and .net runtimes linked in the launcher's troubleshooting page? were you able to play before 0.20? do you have a graphics card that can do direct x 9.0c and shader model 1.1? does it give you a crash log like the OP posted?

I just install pokemon3d today and I got the same error.
"Song playback failed. Please verify that the song is not DRM protected."

Is this because I'm using windows 8 OS?
And I have installed xna 4.0 runtime and .net runtime too.

DracoHouston,
All the songs work (I used VLC Player if that helps (I kinda spaced out listening to some)) and also have matching xnb files with wmas.

I also don't understand what you mean by "oh, and paging @nilllzz"
I know he is "The Best Indie Game Maker" but how would one go about contacting him?

Hey DracoHouston,
Umm...I still have received no help and I really want to play this game.
I just updated to 0.23 and I still have the same problem.
(Attached is the latest Crash Report)

we found out what that means usually, XNA actually uses a windows media player dll to play music, so if you don't have windows media player installed in windows you can't play because the game will freak out when Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Media.MediaPlayer can't work.

we may try and find a way to see if the media player is missing and make it not play a song if so, which would mean you could play it without music and not have windows media player installed, but just install it :p its not like you have to use it.

Yay! I can actually start playing this game!
I would just like to thank you Splint and DracoHouston for helping me though this.
I really hate Windows Media Player, so I guess thats why I had it turned off.
Thanks again!
