I honestly don't see a reason to this with the upcoming servers.
Well, trying to find someone to play multi-player with would require one less application open

less windows open easier to find ppl to play with and u can talk and play without havin to switch between windows
The thing is...it probably would need complicated code to make for a feature that wouldn't be very usable.
but still, im imaging the server chat would be server exclusive, while this chat is everyone inclusive

it could be used actually think about it u could hav gruoup chats public chats group finding chats things like that and hav the option to turn them on and off
Now that's different, it's chat tabs. That could have some interesting use.
Maybe groups, as in a team, or clan?
maybe private chats activated by the in-game phone system?
There's no way to pull the chat messages or send them to the chat system.
Also, besides it is technical not possible, when you enable this on your server, EVERY server that has this enabled would get chat from every other server. That doesn't really make sense.
