Duplicate My pokemon game crashes when picking starter

Ok so I saw someone else with the same problem as me on this forums, and there was 4 pages of people trying to help, I went through all of this same stuff and it didnt fix my problem for me.

I downlloaded and installed it yesterday (01/11/13) with a friend of mine and he had the same problem, now we were going to play coop together but coulnt get started, apperently the problem is the image that comes up for the startes when picking one that crashes the game.

instead of trying to fix this can somebody upload a save file right after they picked a starter to see if that can be a fix?

Keep in mind if there is anywhere else in the game that needs to access an image in the same way, it will probably crash the game as well.

Well, I know for a fact from the original game that there is no other place there is an image like that, so it's very doubtful that it will happen after i get the starter

Well i used your save and when i clicked load on the save ingame it crashed the game. This seems pretty strange now.

Hmm, I think the pokedex and summary use the same images, although they should only crash the game when you try to use them, so I have no idea what is causing the problem.

This bug is due to some change between v0.19 and v0.20 nilllzz needs to fix this there is no solution possible other then to downgrade to v0.19_1.

We have narrowed the problem down in the other thread http://pokemon3d.net/forum/threads/465/ the images that are trying to be loaded in are the pokémon animation images and it crashes when it tries to load them in.

This is a issue that comes up for some people and we don't know why it works for others but not for them.
Perhaps it is hardware related or something might be useful to post your system specs just in case.

but why would it crash immidiatly trying to load a save that has gotten past the point of starter picking?

Because the save already contains pokémon in your party and in the background it loads in those images for the pokémon in your party which causes it to crash the game.

This kinda sucks, all I wanted to do was to try it out. Is there anyway I can downgrade to [0.19] and try it out?

U can grab version 0.19_1 from here sadly it does not have the new move sets introduced in 0.20

but i suppose u can at least try it out

Well.. I downloaded last version played alittle then saved and jumped out. updated to the new version and it worked fine.
