I'm back from break (i checked the site a few times on my phone) and I've ordered a new pc which will help with the process of making music. But i haven't followed the progress of pokemon 3d. So, firstly, how is everyone going? whats happened since december?

also i noticed 6th gen pokemon has been announced. how does that affect Pokemon 3d?

The story has been made up to Azalea town, All Kanto and Johto pokemon has been implemented, Lots of new moves are completed, and You get to choose the Johto Starters instead of the Kanto ones.

As for the 6th Gen announcement, I hardly think it will change anything else but when the game is completed, he will probably add those pokemons into the game aswell.

The first gym has been added as well as Sprout Tower and the game has is completed up to Route 32 with Azalea still under construction.

Gen VI has no effect on Pokemon 3D that I am aware of. Gen VI is not in first person and still does not appear to have some of the features that Pokemon 3D has.

we are continuing on as planned.

gen 6 is probably going to own but this is its own thing. its a free pc game, its moddable and eventually you'll be able to coop in it. i don't think we really have to compete directly with a hand held game at all.

In my opinion, we should keep anything past Gen III (maybe Gen IV) out, because it's just going to ruin the game. I downloaded (very glad and thankful about it too) and shared it with my friends, and its mainly because its a new feel of Pokemon, but still has the classic storyline to it. I believe if we add anything past Gen IV, its just overkill. Too many legendaries/pokemon, way different feeling than Gen I and II, and just becomes a bore. Many of the people I know prefer the classic Pokemon to the newer ones, we pretty much stopped purchasing Pokemon past Gen IV, because it all just started to repeat itself. Same gameplay, new confusing pokemon, and no new add-ons such as (berry mixer, safari zone, PokePark) it feels like if they ran out of ideas, and are just making up new Pokemon, and using the same storyline, with different names and fighting styles.

but was your issue with gen 5 the pokemon/region or the fact that the games dont really advance the franchise much? because if we implement gen 5 pokemon and unova it'll be part of a larger game with all the features of gen 2 so its not like you actually lose johto and kanto and the gold/silver story :p

I know the reason i dislike Gen five is because it didn't include pokemon following and the menu system from hgss
and the region when viewed from overhead was rather bland(fixed that abit in b/w2) but the graphics were nice the pokemon were new and once you got used to that it was rather nice. It was no HGSS(which i view as the to of the non-story aspect of pokemon(johto story is eh and kanto doesn't really have one)) or emerald(which I view as the best game story wise) and cheren/bianca were no Blue(my idea of the best rival specifically because he was an @$$) Gen five was on not great but it was a good game and, once we get over ourselves, it was fun to play

So would this mean that we will setup our own underground territories to mine for precious rocks/fossils, have bases with traps, and have multiple enemy Teams i.e. Rocket, Magma, Aqua, Plasma. Its going to be one heck of a code.

i like my pokemon games with minimal story, i feel like HG/SS was their strongest offering yet, i was especially impressed with the touch controls.

like, in hg/ss theres a huge fight button, its a big simple rectangle with fight on it and the little menu sprite for your pokemon, you press that and the area that was under that button now had your 4 attack buttons, you can hit the quadrant of the fight button where the attack will be and you can just double tap it, awesome.

i tried it on my mates white 2 cart and the fight buttons the middle of this 3d pokeball, very flashy but not as functional

pokemon followers should have been a standard feature since yellow, but hats off to hg/ss team for doing it so comprehensively. its sad that it didnt immediately get put into b&w (they were being made the same time, did the teams never talk?) and it wasnt in b&w2 either which is even more bizzare

mining: gen 4 sinnoh
bases: hoenn and sinnoh(traps)
magma and aqua: hoenn
Plasma: Sinnoh
If nillzz extends to all the regions then this might be included
