Trainer rematches cancel if you get into another battle

I'll need someone else to confirm this for me. I'm pretty sure I got it right though.

So Joey gave me a booty call to come over to Route 30 to battle his top level Rattata but on the way I got into a wild battle and he didn't want to rematch me. I'm pretty sure it's the wild battle that made him not find me so attractive anymore.

Try calling him before you engage the conversation.

You know, when Joey says he's caught a new pokemon and ends with "Let's battle again sometime soon" it doesn't mean he wants to battle. Was that perhaps what he told you?

He told me he was on Route 30. I thought when they tell you the route that means they want to battle?

I've came across that with people before, Sometimes though they don't want a fight, they mearly make a suggestion that you should fight again, call them to be sure, example the flame guy on R35, He makes it plain and obvious, and any others I've called I've battled just fine, even after Wild battles.
