When you talk to your rival in Burned Tower. The encounter music plays, but he doesn't turn around, and you can still move the camera I think. The game crashes about 2 seconds later.

EDIT: Just tried it again. This time he did step towards me, but it didn't lock me into conversation. I could still walk around. The game crashed again though.

When you TALK to him?
you shouldn't be able to talk to him......
It should trigger before then.....

okay talking to him is the crash issue
don't know what is causing the other issues
If he doesn't start the event with you dont talk to him
If you want to ensure he doesn't crash you goto the /pokemon/maps/burnedtower/burnedtower1f.dat
goto line 125 find the section of that line labeled "Action" and change the value to 0

Found the other issue
You need to goto /pokemon/scripts/rival/rival_ecruteak/startscript.dat and remove the word not(and the space) in the first line
This entire event was scripted weirdly and I will talk to nilllzz about fixing it...

I had the same problem as I wrote in another thread and followed these instructions but doesn't work for me! I try to start the match and Rival "says" nothing but a blank balloon. Some sort of curse afflicts me...
