Can you encounter a shiny pokemon without cheating or is cheating the only solution for shiny pokemon

No, you don't need to cheat to encounter a shiny pokemon. I've read about people who have encountered shinies without cheating. The chance is of course still pretty damn slim

I caught a shiny Zubat a while ago, so shinies is indeed in the game.

Wonder if this game will have items to increase chances of finding shiny pokemon? Like the charm in BW2.

That would be a good idea, there could also be the Masuda Method, but instead of Pokemon from across the world, it could be from a different trainer.

If it was a diff trainer, people could abuse the multi save files to trade with themselves...
Maybe a lock that prevents trading with the same computer?

It's possible. A rare chance, but it's possible.

Although I'm not sure whether or not it's a little glitch. I've experimented on a normal Eevee egg. Apparently if you change the value to shiny, the gold star in the top left corner that indicates a shiny pokemon appears on the egg. Which normally shouldn't happen.
