Your Battle Strategy

What's your battle strategy in Pokemon games?

I know for me, it's usually a lot of "Attack until things die", but I've also been starting to put more effort into using status effect moves. Though usually, I just attack until things die, because it's simple.

I'm a staller.
I attempt to slowly wither opponent away using status moves and entry hazards.
I'm also a big fan of the weather in games.
This is of course for online battling, when it comes to the main storyline, just pure attack constantly.

When I´m fighting against NPC´s I don´t have a Strategie. But while I am fighting against other real Trainers I try to defeat them with a large Movepool and try to pull them to sleep or paralize them. So I´m kind of an annoyer. :D

For most NPC's in the game: Always attack moves
For battling friends or people online I will usually always use a different strategy, especially if facing someone again.

I usually use some sort of status move, then maybe an x-attack or some sort of stat boosting move, and then attack moves. Depends on which Pokemon I am using. If I am fighting a standard NPC, I will just use attack moves.

ive been playing through SS lately and beating trainers with underleveled pokemon for good EVs is fun, its cool making efforts to use status stuff to overcome the stat difference

i got a mareep that can paralyze, a gastly that can sleep, a bellsprout with flash, fire starter with smokescreen and pidget with sand attack. my last pokemon is a rattata with bite and a move for upping crit. i cant wait for gastly to get more disabling moves but more importantly an attack move other than lick lol

I'm usually a status then attack until kill sort of guy but I also use environment affects to boost my attack/defense and damage the enemy. Stuff like sandstorm, sunny day, rainy day, blizzard really turn the field to my advantage. Feels like im sort of elemental god.

I usually play off of Type advantage/disadvantages. I use a Pokemon team that If it has a weakness, another Pokemon in my arty has an advantage over that weakness and can easily overcome it. With that being said, I also think of THAT Pokemon's advantages and disadvantages and have a Pokemon for that scenario. In the end, I my party overlaps and covers for each others weaknesses and thus creates a pretty hard to beat team.

It seems to work well to have a Pokemon that knows multiple types of moves as well. For example, I used to have a Swampert that knew a water type move, ground type move, fighting move, and ice type move. I ev trained it for speed so it usually gets the first strike and with any luck scores a KO.

My favorite strategy is to use an offensive duo strategy. I usually build my team around a first Pokemon that can weaken my opponent's defenses by setting up a sweep early-mid game. By the time the first sweeper goes down, I can usually send in a second sweeper (normally Garchomp) to clean up teams in the late-game. The next 4 Pokemon are meant to support the offensive duo by setting up entry hazards, getting rid of any counters or obstacles that would hinder my sweep, or paralyzing opponents to make my late-game sweep easier.

I like to attack things until they die too :D

I do like moves that hurt the opponent but also cause a status effect. So like Flame Charge, does damage and makes me faster.

I don't like the thing that smogon has started, where you just spam 2/3 moves so you can 'set up' it can make you unbeatable, the online game is ruined because of it. You always play the same 10-15 pokemon with the same moves, it's boring.
