Avatar Swaps?

If the game is moddable, is there a way to swap out the main character avatar and replace it with a different one?

I'd like to create my own main character

create your sprite as a .xnb
place it in /pokemon/content/textures/NPC/
goto /pokemon/saves/<save name>/player.dat
this line dictates the sprite:

skin|Ethan

the name references one of the files in /NPC/ by name so just put the name of yours instead of Ethan
