The co-op features

This is more of a question than suggestion/feedback, so sorry about that.
I played this game years ago, thinking of trying it again.

Can play co-op in one same battle along a friend?

I know you can interact/trade/battle with friends in-game and whatnot, but I can't find if this has been added yet or not, or if it ever will be.

What I'm asking is you and a friend vs a gym trainer, at the same time. The co-op described seems the equivalent to being side by side with two hand-held games. Always wanted to do actual co-op pokemon battles.

I actually want Player Party System like Pokemon Cyrus had when they existed. You could make party with player there and always have double battles in wild and alike. It only had just to players party, because game was near to death when 5th Gen appeared, so would be nice if here you can do parties up to 3 people per party.
