Solved Badge and flash

So i just beat my first gym leader and well I didn't get the badge. I got the tm but no badge. Also means I can't you flash in the cave. That's it.

The elder Li gives you the HM Flash

Even if you had the badge, it would not make a difference, since flash cannot currently be used outside of battle as far as i know. It doesn't matter anyway, the only place flash is of use atm is that cave just outside Violet City and you hardly need flash to explore that...

It is strange that you did not obtain the Badge but you should be able to get it by editing the codes, i think it is the item.xnb file you need to edit, but i'm not sure cuz i've never had to edit my badges.

Heh. I certainly need Flash to see in the pitch black hole. I know the reason the thing's called Dark Cave - it's way too dark to see anything in there! The little circle doesn't show much, coupled with the random poke every 3 steps...
I'll likely explore it whenever flash/fly is working. Particularly Fly. No way am I walking all the way back there.

Did you actually check out the cave a all? The reason I said that flash isn't needed is because atm you can only take like 5 steps into the cave, hardly need flash to see that you can't go any further. That aside, I agree. We will definately need flash once we can actually explore Dark Cave further.

I...only took a few steps in. Could see little, couldn't see a path further, figured it was just not visible to me due to darkness. Didn't realise it was due to Dark Cave being blocked at present
I haven't really explored the thing in any Gold/Silver/Crystal incarnation, so I don't know it too well. Did it need Strength or something?

To tell you the truth, i don't remember, i think you needed a combo of rock smash and strenght to completely check out the cavern. For now though, it just seems like there are ledges blocking the way, so i'd imagine we have to enter through another entrance. Just speculating, as i said, i can't quite remember.

Ledges. I knew the thing seemed different to how I (very vaguely) recalled it. I even tried to find my way around with Bulbapedia's help, to no avail. Now I get it. Thanks

Ok then How do i edit the badge then. Please give me step by step instruction.

I'ts best if someone else comes alongs and tells you, I think i have an idea as to what you have to do, but i'm not sure, so if you want me to instruct you rather than someone else, you'll have to make sure that you have a backup incase things don't go as planned.

I know what happened, you recived the badge, but in the actual version there is a bug with the badge screen, you can see the kanto badges only, but you recived the zephirbadge

Oh of course! That makes sense, i was wondering why the first and second badge of my badge list was black and had a question mark underneath them just like all the other badges I knew about the 2nd badge list, but i thought that was for Kanto lol.

The badge's are bugged in 0.2.3 so that if you do this the game crashes, but in earlier versions you just used S to go down on the badge screen, shifting from Kanto badges to Johto ones. It defaults onto Kanto badges, hence the lack.

Ah I thought the badges looked a little first genish... hmmm ok now to look.
