What type of "mod" do you refer to? Any particular one?

textures related mods
When you download a texture pack from the Resources tab, drag the folder named that pack (not the zip folder, just a normal folder) into your ContentPacks folder. When inside, boot up the game. The pack should now be available under the menu in the top right corner of the title screen. You can enable the pack from there.
This is a video I made a while ago to install the Models pack I put up. Texture packs are installed and enabled exactly the same way, so it may help you.

You use your GameJolt ID for your Username (which appears to be mysteryplayer in your case), not your e-mail associated with the profile.
