[Indev 0.53] Eevee getting Incorrect Ability upon Hatching

Magi

Pokémon Ranger
I was hatching eggs and one of my Eevee eggs finally hatched. I can't exactly remember the parent match-up, but I'm 99% sure the mother was a Flareon, because the Eevee has Flash Fire for its ability.

What I expected to happen:
Have a normal Eevee abvility.

What actually happened:
Eevee with Flash Fire

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have a mother Flareon with Flash Fire.
2. Hatch the Eevee egg.

Note: Flash Fire didn't stay when the Eevee was evolved to Vaporeon. Vaporeon got the correct Water Absorb ability.

Could it be... this mechanics is in play?

Reason: Chance of Hidden Ability being passed down from a male or genderless Pokémon in Generation VI, and confirmation whether the female hidden ability transfer chance remains the same..

Starting in Black and White, female Pokémon with Hidden Abilities have a 60% chance of passing on the Hidden Ability to their offspring when bred with a male Pokémon from the same Egg Group. For example, if a female Darmanitan with Zen Mode breeds with a male Simisage, the offspring Darumaka may have Inner Focus instead of the usual Hustle, and would evolve into a Darmanitan with Zen Mode (instead of Sheer Force). Hidden Abilities cannot be passed down from male or genderless Pokémon, and will not be passed down if the female was paired with a Ditto.

Starting in Black 2 and White 2, there is an 80% chance that the Ability slot of the female will be passed to the baby. For example, when breeding a female Pinsir with Hyper Cutter, the resultant Pinsir has an 80% chance of having Hyper Cutter rather than Mold Breaker. This chance does not apply if Ditto is used as either parent.

In Generation VI, any Pokémon, including male and genderless Pokémon, can pass down their Hidden Ability when bred with Ditto. Ditto's Ability is irrelevant to inheritance. If the male is bred with another Pokémon from the same egg group, Hidden Abilities will not be passed down.

Flash Fire isn't Flareons hidden ability. Regardless, an Eevee with Flash Fire as its ability is impossible as its possible abilities are Anticipation, Adaptability, and Run Away.

Probably the above feature is somehow made to also work on non hidden ability. Have to check though.
Confirmed feature in Black 2 & White 2 Generation. It is possible for non hidden ability to get the female parent ability.

If you have breed a eevee without Ditto as parent, you have 80% chance of getting eevee with the female parent's ability.
Likewise for hidden ability, it is the same :)

So not a bug after all. Intended feature unless they are not using the Black 2 & White 2 mechanics.

Flash Fire isn't a possible ability for Eevee to have. I know when the mechanic was introduced and how it works. Flash Fire Flareon would make either Adaptability or Run Away Eevee, not Flash Fire Eevee.

I know it is impossible for normal case but once it adapts it, it totally ignore the ability it suppose to have.

That's how it is programmed in game.
