I am a mobile developer, and i was wondering if a port to Android or IOS was being developed.
i have experience porting XNA programs to android for some time and i thought porting it would be a cool idea.
it would take some time getting all the libraries and directories to be directed into correct folders, and it would be super cool to have a final product that could be played on the go like the original games.

Nope :) There wasn't even a plan for that... But who knows what will happen in the future.

So nilllzz and I have talked about doing a port before
If we really want to do that we will need to switch to monogame c# which we will actually be doing at some point(this will allow it to run on macs too)
we will probably never try to get it working on iOS since it cant go into the app store(obvious copyright is obvious) and requires alot of work arounds to get it on other wise
for android we MIGHT try it at some point in the FAR future but until then we will just continue working on it as PC only

NO
because I thinks it's more important to release regular new versions more often and don't waste time and resources into a porting project :p
Also... the current xna have limitation and bugs. Monogame is much better and support more things that xna can't do.

Haha, I was going to use monogame to do the port. It would be pretty simple since there is so little that is different from XNA. I recently made the switch and I like it a lot.

I was going to handle it myself if I could. I feel pretty confident in it. It would take time, but not as much as writing it from scratch.

If there is a mobile version, is gamejolt account still can be used to play?
I don't know, but I think the answer is yes. There's no reason it would not unless you went on and off WiFi and data.

the game is currently written in vb not c# so that is a major part of the process
for now the mobile porting process is far enough off our radar that we dont want to put any time into(and no matter who is the main worker nilllzz and I would still need to be involved)

What do you mean by involved?

If I am not mistaken, wasn't it Draco that switched from the java (I think it was that) to xna/xnb formatting? I could be mistaken, but that is what I heard.

Sorry to break it to you, but it's not possible.
You can't put this game on the App Store since Nintendo has Pokemon games up already(in part with DeNa) and they will definitely know what's up. They'll shut down the game due it being bootlegged.
For Google Play, you might have a small advantage since there are alot of user-made and bootlegged games, but that's not all 100% possible.
And not if anyone is noticing but this thread is duplicate to mine:

the great thing about android is that you dont need to have it in the app store to play it, since you can download and install it as a 3rd party app, and having the app (possibly) download updates just like the launcher on windows. since IOS is so freaking annoying with tons of bureaucratic loopholes it's not economical to have an app for iphones.
knowing how uptight google has been lately with the copyright laws and such they will take it down immediately since the app is in direct infringement of nintendo, so third-party is the only wat to go if we cant get it to goo on amazon's app store, which nobody uses anyways.

on another note, looking at your post, i like some of the topics you bring up.
also it doesn't have to be for just tablets, most phones these days could possibly run the app, but it will take up space, so being stored on SD card space will be a must.
as for controls, i think something simple like most emulators would be a transparent overlay, with the camera manipulated with another touch. sorry for duplicating, i did not see your post. it was quite old though.

i would love to get Nilllzz's input on this too. i think this is a very possible project and would like to help out.
