Gyarados, I legitimately caught it in Pokemon Ruby. I saw two, I killed one thinking it would give me more experience points and the other I captured the other only to have it released a short time later.
Piggey. Appeared on Fire Red and sold it for $50.
Tentacool. Lost the game it was on.

My first Schiny was a schiny Ghastly on Leafgreen. Sadly none of my friends had a Gameboy Advance at this Time so I couldnt Evolve it to a Gengar

The first shiny I ever saw was a Ratatta on silver, I was 4 at the time and I thought it was giltched so i caught it and made everyone I know jealous

Man, I have been playing since the very first game and I have yet to obtain a shiny Pokemon of my own besides the Red Gyarados. Have you guys ever heard of the Masuda Method? If you trade over the GTS and obtain a Pokemon from a country that speaks a different language then you(like a ditto!), your odds of hatching a egg with a shiny is increased dramatically!
It goes from 1/8192 to 1/1366 (in gen V)
This might be common knowledge by now, but I have just discovered this. I mean, how often do you spend hatching eggs trying to find a specific nature, or some other thing. While you are at it, why not try to get a shiny as well?

I think hunting down/trying to breed for shiny pokemon doesn't make them as special then just playing and randomly encountering one.
I have too many. I have bred a few Shiny's and never actually used them.

I found a shiny Luxio a few hours ago!
I have caught it and traded it to Pokemon White 2, going to have it in my team instead of my normal Luxray. When it evolved I will have the same team but with a shiny.
Just updated my sig to have Luxray as a shiny
It also has better base stats than my normal Luxray, so it will be stronger too!
