Start the game in Kanto?

Hello Pokemon community! Me and some friends were interested in playing the Kanto version of this from start to finish. However I cant seem to find a way to start the game in Kanto, it always seems to start in Johto and cant find a way to change this. Is this possible at all? Or do I need to complete Johto first? Thanks!

I am sorry to say that the game is not program to play kanto first.

It won't be possible for now but in future, there will be an offline gamemode that support your idea.

You may goto kanto after beating johto elite four Through the ship that operate on certain days.

@Darkfire said that maybe they do possibility to choose region at the start, but if they don't rush to the Hoenn after finishing Kanto, which one is nearby finish. But still there is no promises, just possibilities.
