Help me make my Pokemon Team?

So every now and again me, my brother and a few cousins have a small tournament on the latest Pokemon game. Since we are seeing each other on Christmas we have decided to have one then

We are all around the same skill level so it is always hard (but fun)

I am trying to build a team now so I don't do it last thing christmas eve.

So far I have Machamp, Gengar and Arcanine.

I do already have an Arcanine but I don't know if I should turn my Growlithe into an one, it has Pokerus, so it would become a tank when I train it up.

A Gardevoir, Salamance and Swampert are great. When Gardevoir reaches about lvl 55 or so it learns hynosis and dreameater, which takes the enemy's health while they are sleeping. It can also learn thundershock via tm and attract is fairly useful as well. Salamance is great if your battling other dragon types or even other Pokemon thanks to its' high attack stats. Swampert can learn some powerful moves and surf (which can be useful for double battles) and is unaffected by electricity.

I am not a fan of Swampert. I started with Mudkip on my first time in Gen 3, hated it.

One of my cousins likes to have 3/4 pokemon that can learn the elemental punches, to catch you off guard. So I know he will have at least 2 pokemon with ice punch, so Salamence would die. Fast.

I think I will have a Gardevior, never used one in battle but they sound like absolute monsters!

Gardevoir is a beast, but the thing does not have a ton of HP. What about a Wailord? Not that I am a huge fan, but they can learn rest and have a lot of HP which makes them very difficult to kill.

I was thinking about something like Wailord that has a lot of HP. Like Snorlax or Blissey. Not to sure which one though.

If you are fighting a ton of fighting types you probably want to avoid normal types.

I am thinking about using a steel Pokemon. The only two that I can think of that are good though is
Aggron and Steelix.

Metagross is alright and so is Fortress.

Just looked through my game, the only steel Pokemon I have is Aggron
Looks like it's going to have to be that!

Machamp, Gengar, Arcanine, Gardevior and Aggron. That team is scary!

Use a lvl 100 Magikarp as your sixth pokemon and send it out first.

That's just unfair! The person i battle will lose to my first Pokemon!

Yeah. That's why I dislike using them. It always gives me a huge advantage over my opponents.

Thinking about an Electric or Flying Pokemon for my final one.
Luxray and Ampharos stick out for Electric.
Braviary, Pidgeot and Ledian for Flying.

If I was allowed legendary Pokemon I would have Zapdos. It's a shame we made a rule up 4 years ago

Pidgeot is alright, though I have never used the other two. I personally prefer a Riachu as my electric type.

I kinda wanna suggest Pokemon too you but I would get carried away and suggest loads, so I won't suggest any unless you look left
