Most games that go through public alpha/beta will have you reset your save when going into full versionI know he acted in a rude way there, but we can't blame him for being upset. Many games in public alpha/beta stages don't ever need to do any wipes whatsoever, so it's not all that common to start from scratch like this if you wanna have access to all the online features without cheaters (I've never used any cheats, BTW. All my Pokémon are legit). Well, at least now we all know that stuff like this can happen at any time, so don't get attached to anything AT ALL in this game, there's always a chance you'll lose everything if you want the full game experience. You're playing a game that's still in development. Of course it's not finished. That shouldn't really need to be explained, but there you go.
trading can also be used by people who know what they are doing either with breeding or training to provide those services to otherswhats the point of trading if i can catch every pokemon some one else has except for their starters
Kerbal Space Program comes to mind for me. I'm not very good at it though so I've only ever lost a couple of satellites around the mun.remember that while most don't some games make you restart your save EVERY version(not very often and when they do usually aren't very popular so no big names come to mind...)
Dwarf Fortress is a good example and it's fairly popular, at least for neckbeards like meremember that while most don't some games make you restart your save EVERY version(not very often and when they do usually aren't very popular so no big names come to mind...)
I wouldn't like it if it was by itself but with these new features it is very necessaryam i really the only one that dislikes the idea of new saves
Sure, it's annoying. But I really think the future benefits outweigh the negatives. I'll be losing a fairly strong Raticate solo run, but at least it will give me something else to do between updatesam i really the only one that dislikes the idea of new saves
No, you're not. I really hate it, it's like a kick in the nuts for me, after all the hours invested into the game. But they do what they gotta do, game development is full of tough calls like this.am i really the only one that dislikes the idea of new saves
like my level 100 999 in all stats charizard named 'TestZard'why are you guys complaining that you have to start all over on the online version, its better than going up against a guy with a hacked lvl 500 charzard or something
Sure, it may be better, but it doesn't negate the fact that I've already put a fair amount of time into the game. It's very frustrating to have to abandon it all like this if I wanna get rid of the cheaters, especially for someone like me, who hates losing progress and saves every game obsessively. Luckily, not many people are like me, at least I hope.why are you guys complaining that you have to start all over on the online version, its better than going up against a guy with a hacked lvl 500 charzard or something

I guess the main reason I'm feeling frustrated about this is that I had some difficulties against the Cianwood Gym Leader. My Noctowl kept getting knocked out after two turns against his Primeape, until I finally got lucky and hit him with Hypnosis and even then the leader kept using Hyper Potions over and over again and Peck just wasn't powerful enough. I didn't wanna train up another bird Pokémon, so I ended up grinding my Noctowl to lvl 30-something, decided to count the Primeape's HP so I could try to crit him and defeat him fast enough so that he wouldn't be healed by Hyper Potions... Yeah, having to do that again is gonna be a pain. Also, that damn Farfetch'd puzzle... Oh lord, the pain. 'Twas so easy back in the day, the fancy 3D gfx made it so much more complicated xDI get it, I am upset too.
Anyways, I spent almost 150 hours on this game, playing, leveling, evolving, breeding, whatever. To lose aaaaall that is painful. But I am not going to feel bad. I just look at it like a fresh start and this time, without cheaters and what other problems they managed to fix. For a more enjoyable gameplay and everything, I'd be almost be happy with abandoning my save in which I spent a lot of time.
There're no reasons to be rude about it. (Not talking to you in specific, just people in general. )
