For me, it was my battle that lasted forever.
Long story short, I was almost out of Victory Road, when a trainer spotted me. I was out of Pokemon except for my wonderful typhlosion, Biff. They throw out their pokeball... In a nutshell, it kept using sand-attack, and none of my moves were hitting. None of them. Finally, one hit, and I destroyed her pokemon... Then they sent out another pokemon, which also endlessly used Sand-attack. This trainer was a big fan of sand, obviously. At this point, I was out of moves, and Biff was struggling. I was looking for an elixir, a berry, something... Nada. The other pokemon ran out of moves eventually, too. We were both struggling, missing, etc. EVENTUALLY I finally hit it and defeated it. What's so funny about this? This battle lasted nearly an hour.

When a good friend of mine encountered a shiny Staravia right in the begining of the Game. It was before he reached the first pkm Marct so he hadn´t any pokeballs 
Lol YUSH That was Epic.. Meowth totally should have been caught ... If nothing else it would be interesting to see if he's the fist Pokemon to literally tell it's trainer NO XD
And I bet by then its at like Level 99? XD

Haha i think it was about level 87 and evolved after one battle! XD
It was on Pokemon Yellow, i was little, a friend showed me the DayCare and i never gave it a second thought!
