If its just the basic mapping and no scripting that will be much easier
the question is if there will be new textures for the hoenn region
or will it be the normal textures?

Good question. Tell ya what, I'll look into it. See if I cant find a way to get the new textures in, cause I'd rather have that.

They don't, the trees are different. But the way to extract the texture files i got from Splint only work with gbc games.

i meant more like textures for a building or something we couldn't replace with something from the current textures
but the more i think about it the more neccessary it becomes....

i think its better to have Hoenn's Sprite Maps. even Region needs to have thier own Mapping Sprites. if you think about it. think of Sinnoh

you can still crop the sprite that will fit into johtos current sprites ans use them for Hoenn. Draco did say it was possible

Oh wow this blew up fast O.O ok to catch up as best as i can.... i will get some premaps done in the morning and post em in one of the first posts on this thread....

if people could IM me what they want to work on so i can list them in the first post as part of the project and start assigning things so we dont get three dif people working on three dif versions of the same map.

I want to do this piecemail just like the base of pokemon 3d is....

i want to use most the same graphics as pokemon 3d as i want it to be made part of it someday if we can do a real good job..... though some things id like to see diferent is palm trees instead of pine trees and stuff like that.

now for the actual gym leaders i was thinking of giving two options.... one we would have the option of doing a series of minigames tournament style to beat the gymn leader much like in the anime... other option which will be far more dificult than normal gymn leaders would be the option to fight them for the badge.

I'd say for now at least call them gym leaders and make them as such if we can make the mini-games then great but right now i don't think that's feasible

Wow this sounds awesome. The best of luck to you on this. Having the Orange Islands be playable is one of those things I've wanted desperately for like ever. Ever since the Anime seasons on it *sigh* Anyway I can't do much but if you need someone to test or give things a trial run I'd be glad to Beta test/Play it as a trial run
