If your pokemon faints during battle at bug contest, instead of being warped to the judging area, thus ending the contest, the currently caught pokemon takes it s place and the battle continues, as shown in the screenshoot:
Also if, for whatever the reason, you attempt to switch the current pokemon with itself, this happens:
This happens probably because it is meant for only 1 pokemon to be at your party during the contest and somehow that bugs the code. Also note that this can happen ONLY ONCE during each battle if you attempt to switch the pokemon with itself a second time the result is the normal:
