Well, it's really odd.

And .NET is taking ages to repair/reinstall.

Okay I fixed it.

Apparently, if your save data (Party.dat in particular) contains a Newline character with a blank newline, then it crashes the game.

And subsequently, I was wrong. I hadn't played it since then to notice. Apologies.

Ah okay. Well I'm just glad I found the fix to it. I wasn't gonna be starting a new game after investing all that time into this one lol.

That may be your problem. Vista never worked well with .net framework

it would have no issues with net 4
